- This 1940’s two-piece skirt suit was worn by the character Eva Peron portrayed by actress Madonna in the 1996 motion picture “Evita”
- The outfit consists of a burgundy and cream houndstooth swing jacket with red satin lining and burgundy bakelite-like buttons, and a matching skirt with an attached self-belt with an oval buckle made of brass and transparent burgundy plastic
- This outfit was custom tailored especially for Madonna during production to allow for her pregnancy
- The actress wore the outfit onscreen during a reprise of the musical number “I’d Be Surprisingly Good for You” where Peron is arrested at their apartment and hauled to prison
